a pile of timber

When this safety concern was made known at the shed, we jumped into action. George Wilson took charge of organising transport to the shed after removal of the log. We were able to utilise a Lucas Portable  sawmill to turn this tree trunk into natural edged slabs along with a quantity of dimensional timber. The cut timber now lies air drying in the yard. It has been "stickered out" and  laid level to ensure drying as level and true as possible (to minimise cupping and warping). These timbers will be used in the future, probably for furniture making. We have had the opportunity to cut other logs including pine, oak and other local species, sourced from near and far. Shedders are keen to continue with this opportunity to save valuable timber from becoming part of the landfill program.
